ESC102-Request for Proposal: Food Waste in Toronto Restaurants
This project was unique in a sense that the required task was to find need as oppose to solving a problem in a community within city of Toronto.

First, our group brainstormed the communities within Toronto which people usually have a daily interaction and are inclusive such as subway, traffics , pedestrians and restaurants. We then investigated the connection of other possible communities with these inclusive communities. Our problem narrowed down to ‘Restaurants’ and then the Massive amount of garbage produced from this community. In the final stage, the RFP was chosen to be based on the problem of food waste which is the primary cause of the garbage production.

The request for proposal showed its importance as significant preliminary stage of Engineering Design. This significance is based on the fact that it provides the problem solver with the motivation and necessary tools to implement the solution to the issue being addressed in the RFP.
