I am second year Engineering Science student at University of Toronto and my ultimate goal is to be both Engineer and Scientist. This goal is reflected upon the idea that Mathematics and Science are intertwined. My abilities in Mathematics, Programming and Physics in addition to my interest in Biology have encouraged me to practice relating concepts from different areas of study for my future endeavours. In order to improve upon this skill, I have worked on various Engineering Design projects. Engineering Design experience had a significant contribution to aforementioned practice as it provided creative methods of brainstorming and applying my skills.

Through the two years experience at University of Toronto, I have worked on various projects relevant to City of Toronto and the world from simulating the TTC Bloor-Danforth Subway line, analysis of flow through channels (Microfluidics), DNA isolation and PCR, DNA transcription and Translation to optimizing the cooling effect in fire fighters’ bunker suit and the cardboard bridge resistance to high loads with material constraint. These issues might seem different at first glance but they are all framing an iterative, creative and structured engineering design approach.

My personal perspective toward solving existing Engineering problems has drastically altered from making decision based on personal and confined domain of thoughts to thinking outside the box and converging seemingly different ideas toward the desired solution.  These skills have been evolved through the process of both team and individual projects. Improving Mathematical, Physics and Programming skills as well as constantly evolving creative thinking have led to a more unique and optimized solutions in significantly shorter period of time. For future practices, I intend to look more for existing engineering problems and maintain the balance between solving and seeking Engineering issues as well as enhancing engineering communication skills in presenting my designs.

This Portfolio comprises my personal Engineering projects. The projects are related to various fields.   Some of these fields include Biomedical, Electrical and Computer, Civil ,Materials and Mechanical engineering. This portfolio also includes a ‘Personal Engineering Design Process’ which is constructed upon the constantly developing creative Engineering Design approach.
